Year 6 Kwik Cricket 4th June

Really pleased to say the year 6 came third in the local Kwik Cricket tournament at Felling CC. It was a great day of effort and sportsmanship, where all the teams progressed in skill through the day. Year 6 won their group stage with 663 which took us into the semi finals. Here we were pipped at the post by Bill Quay who went on to achieve 2nd place. We faced off with Roman Road for 3rd place defeated them by 7 point our final match!

Great performances all round. Well done year 6!

The Next Alastair Cook or Jonny Wilkinson?

Reception have really enjoyed taking part in a session of cricket and rugby recently. Nathan, the coach, was very impressed with some of their skills and determination. Well done, Reception - remember White Mere when you're famous sportsmen and women!

Looks like they all thoroughly enjoyed their experience!

Football Fever

A fever has been sweeping White Mere these past few weeks. Football fever! Children in KS2 have been valiantly representing our school in both girls and boys competitions.

Firstly we had the boys playoffs for the Lindisfarne League title. The boys played Wardley and St Albans last week to decide which of the three teams would be crowned champions. After a slow start to the season White Mere raced through the ranks to go joint top with the other two teams forcing the playoff situation. We won our first game against Wardley 2-0 but unfortunately we're pipped at the post by St Albans 4-1.

The boys did tremendously well and should be extremely proud of their postpition as runners up. Well done lads!

But it didn't stop there...

White Mere girls from Year 4 and year 5 competed in the 'Girls United' football tournament. Out of their 6 games played Team B managed 1 win and 1 draw and improved dramatically as the competition progressed. Team A managed to win 4 and draw 2 meaning they left the competition unbeaten! Very well done to all the girls! Come on round 2!

Year 5/6 Football

I would like to say a HUGE well done to the boys from Year 5 and 6 for their fantastic effort during the Football League Final last night and throughout the season. They have had a great season and done a great job, coming second in the league.

The boys would like to thank their coach Gary for all the training he has done with them, Mr Noble for his continuous support throughout their season and Miss Ramshaw for refereeing the matches at home and also helping them in training too. They would also like to thank all of the parents / carers / friends / teachers / governors who have attended their matches to support them and cheer them on throughout the season.

Year 5 Dance Festival!

Some of us in Year 5 are super excited as we are participating in this years dance festival! We have all been working hard to put together our dance routine. But we couldn't have done with without the help from fantastic Miss McMullen!
We can't wait to perform our routine at The SAGE. YES! We are performing our routine for many other children from different schools, some our teachers from White Mere as well as others and our family members!

Here is a sneak peak at some of our rehearsals...
