Year 4-Easter Assembly

Year 4 have we working hard on preparing an Easter assembly for the whole school. We told the Easter story and researched interesting facts about how other countries celebrate Easter.

Miss Smyth Came to Visit!

Whilst Year 4 were outside watching the Easter Bonnet parade a special delivery was made to their classroom... 

The wonderful Miss Smyth came all the way from Edinburgh to visit us for the afternoon! Everyone was so please to see her!

RE

Today we started our new topic on Hinduism. We looked at the Aum symbol and some of the main Hindu beliefs. 

World Book Day

Today we have been celebrating World Book Day. Look at all our amazing character costumes!

Fraction Fun

Today we have been investigating how we can add and subtract fractions with the same denominator. We had to complete lots of challenges.

Greek Bowls

We have been creating our plaster bowls ready for our parent workshop. They are looking fantastic!

Painting Flowers

We started our designs for Gateshead Flower Competision. In Year 4 we need to create paintings of flowers that represent our focus season which is Spring. We looked at a range of flower to help us plan our art work!

Homophones with Year 5

We developed our understanding of homophones by completing a range of fun and exciting games created by Year 5. We worked with Year 5 to complete a range of spelling games and they helped us to understand our new spelling focus. 

Baby Harry's Day In School!

Mrs Hutchinson was in school today with her beautiful baby!

It was lovely to see her and baby Harry in school today! Mr Noble kept him entertained while Mrs Hutchinson catch up on the latest in school!

Numeracy Investigation!

This week Year 4 have been investigating a range of numeracy puzzles and word problems. We looked for the key vocabulary found in the questions to help us solve our group challenges.

White Mere Advertisement Company

In Literacy this week Year 4 became their own advertisement company. We developed our own adverts for a range of products. We also developed our adverts further through our improvement sessions. We really enjoyed our class adverts!

Homophones

Monday 2nd February

In SPAG we focused on homophones. We completed an investigation into a range of homophones we are already familiar with. We also identified some words we wanted to investigate further. 

Composition Time!

Today we continued our recorder compositions to include a harmony line. We have also started to practise our original compositions.
