KS2 Parent Workshop. The Venerable Bede.
Last week we invited the parents to come and help year 3 and year 4 in the production of there Anglo Saxon scrolls. The scrolls told a recount of our recent trip to Bede's World and even had illuminated letters and tea stained paper. All the parents and guardians were a brilliant help and the children of lower key stage two produced some spectacular designs to show off to them!

Red Nose Day 2015
It was cold, it was wet but year 3 and all of White Mere cheered each other through our Red Nose Day fun run. Each child in KS2 had to sprint, dress up and hula hoop to victory! All the children worked really hard to 'dress daft' and raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause! Well done White Mere!

World book day 2015 (Year 3)
Recently we celebrated world book day in our year 3 classroom. All the children dressed as their favourite literary character and we worked all day long t creating interesting openers for stories using music as a vivid inspiration. We played different styles of music and then began creating story introductions based on the ideas that the music gave us. Year 3 produced some seriously spectacular story starters!
Mr Noble even dressed up...

Welcome to 2015!
It was our first week back at White Mere this week and after a brilliant holiday, all of year 3 are ready to get back to work.
We began our return to school by researching our new topic, "Groovy Greeks". All of the children worked very hard over Christmas to learn as much as possible before we even came back and they produced some brilliant homework.
We then continued by learning about key events that occurred in Ancient Greece.
Merry Christmas Hayley!
Recently our good friend Hayley moved to the U.S. of A to begin an exciting new adventure with her family. So all of year 3 sent a Christmas photo wishing her good luck and a Merry Chrsitmas!

Year 3 and 4 visit Seven Stories
This week Year 3 travelled the Ouseburn valley to the magical Seven Stories. Here we were shown around by Bryony and Taylor who told us some fabulous traditional tales that all had a modern twist. We talked about our favourite authors and the books we had been reading and acted out in some super role play and freeze frames (even Mr Noble got involved!) . Finally at the end if the day we entered their museum where they keep original artwork from some of our favourite classic Disney films.
Take a look...
