Football Fever

A fever has been sweeping White Mere these past few weeks. Football fever! Children in KS2 have been valiantly representing our school in both girls and boys competitions.

Firstly we had the boys playoffs for the Lindisfarne League title. The boys played Wardley and St Albans last week to decide which of the three teams would be crowned champions. After a slow start to the season White Mere raced through the ranks to go joint top with the other two teams forcing the playoff situation. We won our first game against Wardley 2-0 but unfortunately we're pipped at the post by St Albans 4-1.

The boys did tremendously well and should be extremely proud of their postpition as runners up. Well done lads!

But it didn't stop there...

White Mere girls from Year 4 and year 5 competed in the 'Girls United' football tournament. Out of their 6 games played Team B managed 1 win and 1 draw and improved dramatically as the competition progressed. Team A managed to win 4 and draw 2 meaning they left the competition unbeaten! Very well done to all the girls! Come on round 2!
