Year 2 Problem Solving

We have been loving using the laptops in our class this year, especially for Mathletics! Last week we used the computers to help us with our problem solving skills, something we have been focusing on in Maths! We used our calculation skills to think of all the different possibilities we could use to make £1 using only silver coins, to buy 'The doggy in the window'! We are becoming much more confident in our computing skills!

Computer programming using Scratch.

Y6 have recently enjoyed using the Scratch computer program. They created a maths game and used a range of commands that sprites would follow as part of the game. Pupils certainly choosessome interesting  characters and backgrounds for their games!

Vile Victorian Parent Workshop

Y6 created some fantastic Powerpoints about the Victorian era, ably assisted by their parents and carers this week! They were able to demonstrate their knowledge of key facts about this time in history and incorporate them within interactive presentations. We're looking forward to peer assessing them and suggesting improvements for the future.

Year 5 Computing

We have had a great afternoon computing with Miss McMullen. Over the past weeks we have been looking at algorithms and creating our own algorithms using the amazing computer programme, Scratch. We especially like choosing our sprites and testing out our programme each time we adapt our algorithm.
