Den Day!

On Monday it was Den Day! 

Year 5 and Year 2 joined together to create a fantastic Den in the Key Stage 1 yard!
We first had a discussion about working as a team and communicating our ideas with each other before collecting the materials we needed to create our fabulous Den! Miss Henry and Miss Howe couldn't believe how great and original our ideas were! We had great fun doing this and hope we get to make an even better Den in the future!

Victorian Cross Stitch

We loved our cross stitch creations! We had so much fun learning all about Queen Victoria and what life was like for Victorians in our topic this term! What better way to finish than to learn about the type of activities that Victorian children completed at school, in a hands on way?

The cross stitch was a little tricky, but before long we got into a rhythm and by the end we were pros! Even the backs were neat!

"Back to the Iron Age" Discovering the past with Durham university.

On Monday 14th October children from year 3 and 4 were treated to a spectacular day of Iron Age themed activities. Ross and Daniel from Durham University's outreach program showed the children some genuine Iron Age artefacts which we all held and examined. We examined the cast of a real Celtic skeleton and constructed the bones in the correct order (hopefully!). It was a brilliant day!

Year 2 Castle Topic

Year 2 had a great time using their skills of design and their knowledge of the structure of a Castle to build these fabulous models! Well Done!
