Iron Age Discovery with Durham University

This's week year 3 and 4 took part in an Iron Age workshop. We investigated a range of real artefacts from the Iron Age and discussed what we have found out about Celtic life from these objects.

We then took part in an art workshop were we developed our understanding of the roundhouse structure and the design of coins from the Iron Age.

We developed our understanding of the role of an archeologist and how bones can tell us a lot about how a person lived and died. We then became bone detectives to piece together our very own skeleton.
